This has been such an interesting experience and I looked forward each day to checking in on the web cam.
A big hand for Dave, he did an excellent job of being a parent to these little birds.
Oh and wax worms which apparently are like sweets to them so you've got to be careful you don’t give them too many. It's very time consuming but yes I would do it all over again. Losing any animal, if it's in your care, is a great loss and sadly they deteriorated one by one for reasons unbeknownst to me. It's innocence when it charms us, ignorance when it doesn't. The time is near and i will be letting Rambo go on Monday 16/06/2008 weather permitting. If Rambo's release all goes well, i will add the webcam onto their nest.
Faith, who also got named by somebody else in the chat room, was the fifth one remaining but she had something wrong with her legs. So we popped her up to the vets and he checked her over and said it should be OK in time. I am from Japan and learning to speak English, tell me whether I wrote the following sentence: "State employees your business to south carolina, grow an existing business, or improve."Thank you very much :o. Rambo's Cage will be left out side for him with access to food, just incase he decides to come back.
which all had to be painstakingly de-headed and have their digestive tracks taken out manually by-hand. It's not so much a dawn chorus but when he gets hungry… And, at times, he just seems to chirp because he likes the sound of his own chirp.
But it's relaxed a bit now and I only feed Rambo every hour which is a great bonus. He's on quite a good diet of meal worms, bird rearing food formula, extra vitamins and also wet dog biscuits every now and again. And he's already starting to lose all his fluffiness and get his yellow colouring out the front and he's absolutely ace at flying now. It's been a very lovely experience but if you are going to take it on board you've got to be pretty dedicated especially when you're feeding every 15 minutes. I noticed he was very lively flying around in his cage the other day. Also, you appear to have some new little birds on the webcam - will enjoy watching them.13/06/2008: Well i just want to say a very BIG thank you to all that have followed Rambo's progress. His/her flying is awesome, and now feeding very well on his own.
He's been called Rambo but we don't know if he's a boy or a girl and I don't know how you sex birds.
